AADATEN RESTRICTED PRODUCTS POLICY

Introduction

Aadaten by Funshalla India Private Limited are dedicated to fostering a marketplace that upholds the highest legal, ethical, and community values.

Sellers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Aadaten’s policies when listing products for sale.

Any violation may result in:

  1. Removal of listings
  2. Suspension or termination of selling privileges
  3. Legal or regulatory action


1. General Principles

  1. All products offered for sale on Aadaten must comply with national, state, and local laws, as well as Aadaten’s own ethical standards and values.
  2. No illegal, unsafe, dangerous, or misleading products are permitted.
  3. Aadaten strictly prohibits listings of products that contravene religious, dietary, or ethical principles central to our platform and customer base.


2. Aadaten-Specific Restrictions: Non-Jain Foods & Products

Aadaten is committed to respecting Jain values.

The following categories and product types are strictly prohibited on Aadaten, regardless of their legal status elsewhere.


2.1 Foods Jains Avoid

A. Root Vegetables (Underground Vegetables)

Avoided because the harvesting process harms plants and microorganisms.

Examples include (but are not limited to): Potato, Onion, Garlic, Beetroot, Radhis, Yam / Suren, Sweet Potato, Ginger, Turnip, and all other Vegetable that grow underground.


B. Fermented Foods

Avoided due to the fermentation process involving microorganisms.

Examples:

 Yeast-based breads and bakery, Vinegar (fermented types), Pickles prepared with fermentation.


C. Specific Ingredients & Items Often Avoided

Alcohol, Wine vinegar, Honey (many Jains avoid as it harms small organisms), Gelatin, Agar-agar derived from non-Jain sources. , Food colors & flavors not certified Jain.

Preservatives made through non-Jain processes. Eggs & ingredients derived from them

Animal-based rennet (used in some cheeses; Jains use microbial rennet) ,Chocolates (check for emulsifiers & hidden ingredients)


3.Other Products (Products & Materials Jain avoids Beyond Food)

A. Leather Products

• Belts, shoes, bags, wallets, jackets made from leather

(Synthetic or cloth alternatives are permitted.)


B. Silk

• Silk clothing, sarees, or accessories (since silkworms are killed in production)

(Prefer cotton, linen, or synthetic alternatives.)


D. Animal-Based Cosmetics & Toiletries

Products containing animal-derived ingredients are prohibited, including:

• Beeswax (lip ba lms, creams)

• Lanolin (from wool)

• Gelatin (in capsules or shampoos)

• Carmine (red dye from insects)

• Collagen (of animal origin)

(Only vegan, plant-based, and cruelty-free cosmetics are permitted.)


4. Additional Restricted Product Categories

Aadaten also prohibits or restricts listings to comply with laws and maintain customer safety and trust.

Examples (not exhaustive):

• Alcohol, tobacco, and vapes

• Drugs, controlled substances, and related paraphernalia

• Human parts or burial artifacts

• Explosives, firearms, weapons, and accessories

• Hazardous materials or chemicals

• Counterfeit, stolen, or non-genuine products

• Recalled, defective, or unlicensed goods

• Gambling or lottery products

• Animal and animal-derived products (as applicable)

• Unapproved pharmaceutical or health items

5. Seller Responsibilities

  1. Compliance: Sellers must ensure that all listings are accurate, lawful, and free from prohibited Jain ingredients or materials.
  2. Product Detail Accuracy: Descriptions must be honest, complete, and placed in the correct category.
  3. Category Approval: Certain categories may require prior approval or declarations.


6. Enforcement

Products violating laws, community guidelines, or Aadaten’s Restricted Products Policy are subject to:

  1. Immediate listing removal
  2. Inventory disposal or return (without reimbursement)
  3. Suspension or termination of seller account
  4. Permanent withholding of payments
  5. Legal action, including civil or criminal penalties


7. Reporting & Appeals

Aadaten empowers its community to report any product or listing that violates:

  1. Platform policies
  2. Jain values
  3. Applicable law

How to Report:

Submit reports via the Raising Ticket on our website. Each case will be investigated promptly.

Appeals:

Sellers may appeal enforcement actions through the Email Id legalsupport@aadaten.com if they believe an error occurred.
